GED stands for General Educational Development. It is a credential equal to a high school diploma and provides mature Albertans with the opportunity to earn high school equivalence standing which may assist them in qualifying for better jobs or for work promotions. The GED is a comprehensive test designed to measure students' knowledge of all the major subject areas that have been mastered during high school.

Equilibrium School's student guidance and counselling program began in May 2013 with the goal of enhancing student learning and overall wellness at Equilibrium School. The setting of this goal resulted from a noticeably growing need for more easily accessible services relating to the addressing of student concerns, issues, and questions. Specifically, these relate to individual learning needs, personal and social challenges, future employment planning and goal setting as well as questions regarding where, how , and when to access other community and government services.

The Basic Literacy Program is designed for English as an Additional Language speakers lacking basic literacy skills who are seeking work in Canada. It's a program that is recommended for students with pre CLB levels and/or CLB 1 to 2 in all categories. The program addresses all four aspects of the English language. It targets students with a significant discrepancy between listening and speaking benchmarks (2 and above) and reading and writing (pre-Benchmark). The components of the program are:
